Convention

Every year, a nonprofit organization called Michigan Municipal League hosts a convention to bring together municipal officials from across the state. The event gives attendees an opportunity to hear inspiring stories from communities around the world, and share what’s happening in theirs. The samples here are from the 2021 convention, held in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

I set out to create branding and imagery that would spark the imagination and innovation of attendees by using isometric building blocks to construct cityscapes and playful patterns.

Wayfinding

The MML Convention is held in a different conference hall every year. These buildings are large, confusing to navigate and usually hosting other events at the same time, so having a distinct brand and plenty of signage to guide attendees is essential.
